A Kellie Lightbourn’s lifetime of community service and dedication to her family led her to being crowned Mrs. Florida America 2010
David and Jaqueline Siegel hosted an impressive vening for contestants and their families at heir estate at Isleworth Golf & Country Club. The red carpet was definitely rolled out for these ladies, just one example of the star-studded year our new Mrs. Florida can look forward to. But don’t let the glitz and glamour fool you. While the event allowed everyone time to relax and enjoy themselves, there was one unexpected twist—the judges were also invited to this gala, allowing the contestants an opportunity to engage with them outside of the tension-filled interview room. Contestants were also encouraged to take a few moments to address the crowd. This was another great opportunity for the judges to see the ladies in action. The perfect ending to the first day of competition.
The Finals were held Sunday evening at the Westgate Vacation Villas. Family, friends and reigning royalty came to lend support to their favorite contestants. The pageant had everything you would expect—an opening number, swimsuit, and evening gown competition. But this year’s Mrs. Florida America pageant was full of surprises, including an appearance from reigning Mrs. America 2010 Andrea Robertson, who came “plus one” to the event. Mrs. America is expecting a baby boy in July. This will be her third child.
This year’s host was anything but predictable. The handsome, somewhat-serious-yet-witty David Lang, co-owner of Regalia Magnificent Apparel in Orlando, served as the host for the evening. His humorous chitchat was a welcomed addition to the incredible event. Janet McCulloh, Mrs. Florida America 2009, was also there to lend a helping hand and grace the stage one last time.
Pageant organizers threw in another twist, turning the spotlight on the husbands. With the pressure off the ladies, it was time to let the husbands say a few words. The field was then narrowed down to five and it was the ladies’ turn to take center stage for their final question.
As the first runner-up was called, the audience exploded in excitement as the crown was placed upon the gorgeous auburn hair belonging to Kellie Lightbourn, officially proclaimed the new Mrs. Florida America 2010.
“Kellie has the complete package. She is a beautiful, confident woman with incredible compassion for helping others.
